Software Toolkits

We're collaborating with Aspiration and their Social Source Commons to develop and maintain a series of 'toolkits' -- lists of free and open source tools that can help non-profit organizations realize their goals and mission. By using Social Source Commons and their toolkits framework, we can ensure that this list will continue to be useful and relevant over time. This is a community project, however, and we need your help to maintain the lists. These are tools we think non-profit and other civil society or non-governmental organizations could be making use of in desktop environments, on web servers, and on back office servers:

• For web servers
• For back-office servers
• MS Windows desktop software
• GNU/Linux desktop software
• Mac OSX desktop software

We also have now put up a FOSS Tools for Nonprofit Technology Project Management toolkit - it came out of the Managing Nonprofit Technology Projects event, Jan 10-11, 2008.If you have thoughts about this array of toolkits or the way we've broken them out, or if you think there is a toolkit missing from the list, add a comment.
